City Sport, partner of the first edition of the Dakar Marathon
Mercure International represented by City Sport and Adidas teamed up with the Dakar Marathon, on April 15-16. For this first edition, 3 races took place in the capital of Senegal: the «10km», the semi-marathon and the marathon. The event brought together 13,000 participants (including 6,000 for the marathon), from Senegal and several other countries. Ethiopia’s runner Abere Kassw was the first to cross the finish line of the Marathon with a time of only 2:18:22 , while Kenyan runner Zeddy Limo won the women’s race in 2:39:20. A few hours later, Diomaye Séné of Senegal, 86 years old and the oldest person of the race, successfully crossed the finish line of the race. A great adventure for all!
